About the Naval Academy Parents Club of West Virginia
As parents of Midshipmen, you are very special. Your child is attending one of the finest institutions in America. They enter the Academy as a young adult and emerge as an officer of the United States Navy or Marine Corps. This journey is an exciting time for you and your Midshipman, and you will have many questions in the days and years ahead.
The Naval Academy Parents Club of West Virginia was formed in July of 2020 to provide information and non-financial support to the parents and guardians of United States Naval Academy appointees, Midshipmen, Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) students, Foundation students, and USNA graduates. The Naval Academy Parents Club of West Virginia serves as an informational conduit between the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and West Virginia. It is the sole parent club for the state. The club is organized by parents and operates under the guidance of the USNA Alumni Association.
We encourage participation in events focused on the Midshipmen throughout the year. We work together to support the parents, guardians, and families, as they grow through their years at USNA, by sharing tips, contacts, and ideas for success. We plan to organize a variety of social and informational events and encourage current Midshipmen, parents of current Midshipmen, and USNA alumni to share their experiences. Our club activities will help us to understand and support our sons and daughters, as they navigate and embrace the challenges and opportunities that go along with being a Midshipman and future Naval or Marine Corps Officer. There is much to learn about the Naval Academy, and we are here to accompany you on your journey!
Parent Club meetings and events are open to all Midshipmen, their parents, alumni, Fleet parents, and Blue and Gold Officers. Our meetings and social gatherings promote goodwill among parents and cultivate the building of lifelong friendships. We urge you to join us on Facebook for more information.
Our current membership of 51 parents supports the 25 West Virginia Midshipmen enrolled for the 2022-2023 academic year.
